How this consultation station runs
In MRCP PACES 2023 the consultation encounter appears in Stations 2 and 5. You have 15 minutes with the patient to take a focused history, carry out a relevant examination and agree a plan, followed by 5 minutes of questions from the examiner.
On StationReady the examiner stays silent while you consult unless you ask for an investigation result, such as recent blood tests, an ECG or a chest X-ray. A single bell rings at 13 minutes and a double bell at 15 minutes. The examiner then asks you to summarise the case, give your differential diagnosis and answer three case-specific questions.
